Nonviolent Communicationsm (NVC) Overview
Nonviolent Communication provides a model for offering our thoughts and desires in a manner that is easy for others to hear. It assists in hearing the heart of what others are saying, even when delivered in a way that is hard to receive. And it guides us in delivering our own messages in ways that are easy for others to hear and understand.
Created by author, psychologist Marshall B. Rosenberg in the 60's, Nonviolent Communication offers a path to compassionate exchanges in all interactions - personal and professional. Packaged in an easy-to-remember four-step model, NVC increasingly smoothes the way the more we use it.
Nonviolent Communication has been taught and used throughout the world by over 200 CNVC certified trainers to help others address tension and stress. NVC helps users navigate more gracefully through differences by helping users focus on the universal needs underlying any situation. Recognizing that contributing to the well being of others is one of “humans” highest priorities, NVC guides us to concentrate on how all needs can be heard and valued before co-created strategies for resolution are formed.
The application of Nonviolent Communication practices and principles in everyday living leads to more compassionate and satisfying interactions, more connected and caring relationships, more collaborative and productive efforts, and more enthusiasm and aliveness.
